Behind the Curtain - Rev. Sam Townsend, Jr. (Black Nativity/Choir Workshop)

We're happy to present this very special episode of Behind the Curtain with The Sound on Stage. The Rev. Sam Townsend, Jr. is an elder at Seattle's Greater Glory Ministries Church, founded by his father, but he's also the Music Director for the holiday staple Black Nativity at Intiman Theatre. In addition to that, he's hosting, along with members of the Black Nativity Choir, a Free Community Choir Workshop on June 28 from 2-5 pm at the Langston Hughes Performing Arts Center.

Sam was gracious enough to take time out of his busy schedule to talk about the event, free and open to all, about the return of Black Nativity to Intiman after a brief absence and what is in store for this year's production, as well as the 45th Anniversary of his church. If you are interested in learning more about Black Nativity, or want the chance to possibly join this year's production in the choir, be sure to register and attend the Community Choir Workshop. Information about it, and this year's Black Nativity can be found at https://www.intiman.org/.
