Behind the Curtain - Casey Raiha

In this interview, we go Behind the Curtain with "super-sub" Casey Raiha. Casey is known throughout the Seattle theatre scene not just for his talent, but his ability to perform as an understudy, and that means not just his ability to come on at a moment's notice, but to do it well enough to earn an award nomination, which he did last season for his role in last year's Into the Woods production at the 5th Avenue Theatre.

Coming out of Covid, understudies and swings have gained a new importance and are a big part of every new production, especially at the professional theatre houses. We discuss the life of an understudy, the difference between that role and a swing and chat about the book he is currently writing to help actors and theaters navigate this new world by providing his perspective on this critical piece of theatre.

Casey is an engaging conversationalist and is clearly passionate about theatre, but acting isn't his only skill. Head out to his website (https://www.caseyraihavo.com/) to learn about his other skill as a voiceover artist supporting a dynamic range of industries and media.
