Behind the Curtain - Laura Schein (Emojiland / Miss Hysteria)

Our guest on this episode of Behind the Curtain with The Sound on Stage is actor/writer/lyricist Laura Schein. Laura is best known for her work as a co-creator (book/lyrics) of Emojiland, the Musical, the latest production of which just closed on July 19. In addition to that, Laura is an accomplished actor, a writer and lyricist for film and television, a podcast co-host for "What the Func?!", and a successful health coach. Her latest project, the new musical Miss Hysteria is in pre-production, having been selected by Stephen Schwartz for the 2023 ASCAP Musical Workshop and is an official selection of the 2026 Goodspeed Festival of New Musicals.

In this episode, Laura sits down with Greg to discuss all aspects of her work, from her acting debut at 13 in the national tour of Ragtime, through Emojiland and to her work on Miss Hysteria.
