Behind the Curtain - The Messenger (Bainbridge Performing Arts/Bitlab)
In the latest episode of Behind the Curtain with The Sound on Stage, we're previewing the upcoming staged reading of The Messenger, running in the Sears Studio at Bainbridge Performing Arts from August 15 through August 17. The reading features the talents of Elizabeth Mitchell, Catherine Rush, and Ruby Ricisak (along with the voice of Jeff Farris) in a timely story of a politically charged relationship between a terminal patient and her caregiver. Dinah Manoff is the writer of The Messenger, and she joins us along with the director of the staged reading Rachel Noll James to talk about the process of building this story, its importance in our current political climate, and what audiences can expect when they attend one of the performances.
